Big Nate in the Zone. It is about a young boy in his six grade who has interest in almost everything but not in education, in the real sense.
People are aware about the need for education and learning from school but it is somehow difficult for everyone to find the interest in loving what is taught at school by heart. That is how Big Nate saw life.
If there is anything that Big Nate is good at, that is getting into the nerve of everyone he chose to. Starting from those at their home up to his teachers in school, he is considered the biggest headache. However, despite is naughty ways Nate is considered to be a gifted young boy who has talents in art and known to be the Renaissance man at their school. The typical boy who knows he has exemplary talent but is not getting the kind of attention he thinks he deserves who then decides to give them the greatest challenge he can think of and a taste of his sarcasm.
Nate Wright, the real name of the character written by the talented author Lincoln Peirce was not supposed to have a story based on school humor. Instead, this was supposedly about how a single father raised his children and how he managed to handle each of his children despite challenges.
However, the author being a writer decided to change how the story runs and shifted it to school humor. The story has its own twists and bits of spices since it does not only focus on the mischief of the lead character. The young boy also has his love interest, a girl named Jenny Jenkins, whom he is absolutely sure that one day will fall for him just like the way he does.
If there is anything the young girl feels for Nate, that is not fondness towards the leading man in the comic strip. Although this gives him a charming effect, his unbelievable list of detention records and daily antics at school cannot be ignored.
Day by day, Big Nate makes sure that his pranks and pandemonium is successful and it tops the last one he did. Nate of course belongs to an inner circle consisting of him and his two close friends Francis and Teddy. They have similar attitude and can be called partners in crime.
Coming from a foreign country, the boy does not speak perfect English and has a thick accent but his simplicity and kind nature makes him popular to the girls which irk Nate. He is considered by Nate as a friend but he also feels annoyed by the fact that most girls are interested with this kind of boy who he sees as very awkward and seem to be a loser. He called her Queen Kong. Animal Planet and Venus de Silo and he spread it out to everybody that his most hated mentor has stingy onion breath.
The boy has numerous teachers he loathes but Mrs. Clara Godfrey-Lessard has the top spot. The school librarian, Mrs. She often sends Big Nate to detention just like his social studies teacher.
Not everyone at school is treated by Nate and his gang as their enemies though.
