Overall I have enjoyed my time with Forza Horizon 3 ; I can tell that Playground Games wanted to emphasise 2 key things when developing this title: Fun and Freedom. I had plenty of both and there are a few things in here that the Motorsport series can learn from in the future. Making progress on my Single Player while racing with friends and talking over Party Chat is a good way to spend an evening. It is the "shot in the arm" that Single Player needed and I hope it becomes a permanent feature in future titles.
Horizon Blueprint I like that I can race whatever I want, wherever I want and still have those races count towards my progress. It was fun to try out the custom events that others created and make a few of my own. I never felt pressured to own a certain car at any point and could simply continue driving the cars I enjoy most. I liked the fact that I didn't have to win or get a podium to progress through every race.
That encouraged me to up the Drivatar difficulty to Unbeatable and really challenge myself. If I won, great, but if not I didn't feel like the time was wasted as I was still making progress. I also liked that Drivatars matched their PI to whatever car I was driving, and that I was competing in an actual Championship each time instead of a string of slightly related races.
The Storefront As a painter this is a key feature that I am glad to see return. It made finding high quality paints and tunes a lot easier than relying on the cumbersome Recommended system.
