Unlike another title with a similar name on this list, the version of the UEFA Champions League game really wasn't that good - and that's being kind. And it follows the same 'let's not change anything at all except to re-skin the game with different kits and badges for the teams and call it a day' pattern.
Oh, and I forgot to add: 'and let's make the gameplay far worse than the last game'. I'm all for spin-offs, but let's not be lazy EA! This is when we get into the 'okay' territory on the timeline of FIFA titles. FIFA World Cup was a passable game in an era when nothing was expected of the franchises spin-offs. A lot of these games tend to earn bonus points simply for being connected to the fantastic football tournaments they are based on, but even the actual, real-life World Cup could not save this game.
Of course, playing with Zidane in his final tournament with that gorgeous France kit is a special experience for a hardcore football fan, but the game aspect comes before the fandom. It's hard to have fun when it's nearly impossible to put the ball in the back of net. Honestly, there are a lot of problems with the original FIFA Street , but the sheer fact that it even released was a mini-miracle for all football fans like me who spent their days playing in the tattered grass pitch outside with twenty-five friends and the infamous 'last goal wins' rule.
The original FIFA Street was unbalanced, had a plethora of graphical hitches, and was a step down from the visuals fans expected, but it was real! It actually came out! Football fans could actually play street football with Kaka and Ronaldinho.
I fondly remember the hype surrounding the game as many fans simply switched from real street football to virtual street football. Bragging rights now ensued in two different worlds with similar rules: last goal wins! I feel a little bad for not placing FIFA World Cup a bit higher on the list, but I aim to separate my favorite games from the ones that I consider superior in quality.
FIFA World Cup was a fine game in its own right, but it's the nostalgia and its impeccable roster that pushes it so high. And there were also a bunch of lesser known squads that could pull their weight against the bigger teams.
South Korea, shared hosts with Japan, were incredibly fun to play with, even if you had to face the might of the Germans or the silky tricks of the Brazilians. A great game for a great tournament - besides the blatant match-fixing! People tend to hate the end to any kind of trilogy and it was sort of the same with FIFA Street 3 , but I am quite opposed to that opinion. It wasn't the most innovative FIFA title, but it executed on what it promised.
I mean, what more is there than incorporating a solid move-set with a bunch of tricks to pull off? As you know now, I'm not a big fan of its predecessor, so it might have simply been that my expectations were really low before the game released, but FIFA Street 3 's addition of dozens of new tricks and locations, along with an excellent marketing campaign, made for a solid title. It's not particularly good and it's definitely not bad.
It just is. FIFA 16 didn't really add anything to the FIFA formula except maybe an appreciated boost in graphical quality that was long overdue at the time, but that is one of the least important things in a football sim behind evolving mechanics and furthering the development of game modes. As a Chelsea fan, the only thing I really enjoyed was the addition of my all-time favorite football kit from that season. I guess that's a bonus? I spent most of my time in the Pro Clubs mode, which is always fun with friends.
FIFA 16 just really didn't do it for me. But at least it's not as forgettable as FIFA 14! FIFA 17 is actually a great game but it feels like it's a title that is on the cusp of greatness.
Again, it's a great game, but one that seems like it's more of a set-up than a finished product. The introduction of the all-new The Journey mode, FIFA 's equivalent of a campaign, is the most apparent example of this. It's got some heart, but it's clearly a beta version of what's to come.
But besides that, many at the time didn't expect any more than a run of the mill simulator, but the game's ability to capture the essence of the tournament football fans watched on their televisions was exceptional. Replicating Sneijder's goal against France with the best ball ever created—the gorgeous Adidas Europass—and the other wonder goals scored in the real-life tournament was fun for much longer than I would have imagined. Just try to ignore the stock, unlicensed kits as much as you can!
Remember when Malaga were in the Champions League quarter-finals and on the verge of reaching the semis? It was only as recently as but decline since those brief glory years have left them in Spain's second tier.
The entire first-team squad was released in to stave off insolvency. There's rarely a blank canvas like it in football. The challenge is simple: break the Old Firm dominance of Scottish football. The reality is probably quite a bit harder but worth a good go. It was the last time a club other than Rangers or Celtic was crowned champions in Scotland. That was Aberdeen led by a young Alex Ferguson.
Hibernian were comfortably third in the Scottish Premiership last season so are probably your best bet. Sutton are the newest addition to the EFL, so taking them further up the English leader ladder would be an ultimate rags to riches tale. This is the first season they have been included in a FIFA game. Forest Green are a unique side that deserve plenty of attention. They became the world's first vegan club in , before they had even reached the EFL, and have kitted out their stadium with eco-friendly innovations.
Make an extremely unremarkable club Rochdale once spent 26 consecutive seasons in the EFL's bottom division without getting promoted or relegated. Blackburn remain one of only seven clubs that have held the Premier League trophy aloft since the new competition was formed in Yet Rovers haven't been in the top flight for 10 consecutive seasons following their relegation in and it's about time they returned.
Plus there's Chilean sensation Ben Brereton Diaz to manage. Two-time European Cup winners Nottingham Forest haven't played top flight football for over 20 years since their relegation from the Premier League. What's more, a good number of those years have seen them finish in the bottom half of the Championship. Restoring the glory days is first and foremost getting back in to the Premier League. Then it's climbing the table, challenging domestically and, perhaps ultimately, reigning Europe once more.
Roony, Wilshere, Pique and Neuer. Even more quality!!!! Have a player with vision I started with Man City and its January and bought H. Hows that for quality. No you cant trade players but a cool new addition is that you can loan players with the option of buying them at the end of the season.
I too am playing as qpr on world class. Im joint top withj united and bought maxi rodriguez liverpool Granero R madrid and Diaby arsenal. All offers a for manager mode. Any suggestions as to why this is happening? I have the same problem. I cannot continue as player manager and therefore cannot play with my VP after the first season.
The option to play as player manager is not offered by any team, even the team I am currently playing with. You need to select the Player Manager option, because the first option that comes up is manager mode. Scrap your team and get what you can for the old players then sign a few middle-class players and focus on the future. I would avoid this situation in the future, unless you have a solid team and want to make a run this season, don't sign highly rated old players Need to know whether or not to save up for a star player.
I won the 4 possible trophies in one season with Liverpool before moving to barcelona. Not much is given for league cup.
Man the defence change this year is so fricking annoying. My personal opinion is that the game cheates to win and cheats me to make alot of wrong passes and under hit passes to be intercepted. I feel that it takes the fun out of the game when that happens you have to try really hard to win. I am with fc barcelona. I sold xavi, puyol, valdez, alvez, maascherano, villa, and ineista.
Yes thats destroying FCB but this is career mode. They age and suck. I have only bought the best of the best. They lowest my Def is overall 87 Ramos. Everyone on my team is 87 and up and from the 11, 2 are German, 5 Spaniards, 1 english and 1 mexican me.
This is the most elite team youll be have in the seasons I said. He is from chile so the chemistry is good because Spain, Mexico, chile all talk spanish. For more questions hit me up at ashtrey yahoo. Just because it's not slammed into your face as a score, I'd be extremely surprised to see someone develop such a team feature as Chem, and just applying it to Ultimate Team With all the old players.
If you really want a player who is on the transfer list but you do not have to money, offer them a loan deal with the option to buy for there market fee and you should get the player for a season until you get the money to but them.
I dont thinks thats wise as you can'y keep 33 players happy game time. Better to have young decent players who will develop. Two things need improving next year - first of all the level of players generated it's been mentioned above I've done all 15 years, and at the end, the highest rated player on the game is 86 overall, and he's a goalkeeper, the development failed that way.
Also, The job offers are awful. I support a league 1 side, I one domestic cups, got 2 successive promotions to the premier league, finished 6th on my first PL peason, and the only offers that come in are from division 2 belgium teams or somewhere in Poland that I've never heard of. Hahahaha some people are pricks. I get bored after my third season and if u play all 15 years then u seriously do not have a life. Dont worry Try the creation centre, and create your own club, using bios of scouted players like reference for yours created rosters.
I spent dozens of hours to make it. Why are you on this site then. Seriously, do people just come here to whip their holier-than-thou balls out and beat their views out in front of you? It's you who's balls and have no life, not us. Just wondering am I the only person were I play as player manager with my virtual pro but when I get promoted they only offer me a manager position even though my pro is an 85 CAM even if I get all the awards and get top goal scorer and best manager it still only offers me a manager position anybody know how to fix this.
EA can go suck a bag of dicks this game is broken. I have the same issue and no matter which was you move left, right, up, down, no team, not even your own will offer you a player manager position.
Is a must to fix it!!! Does it matter what team you loan a player out to? Does it matter or am I just wasting my time waiting? If your at the end of a season save the game on the 30th day of june date varies by league and on the 31st you will recieve offers of other teams if you dont like your options go to the dashboard and when you start the game again you will have a new set of offers.
If you play as just player, is there much to do other than play and better your skill? It was good when you could try and get in the international squad?
What can you do in FIFA 12? How much do u get for winning each league. League 2,1,championship, premiership? Alright, I am playing as Marseille, I won the ligue 1 in France the first year, plus 2 cups. I had over mil in transfer budget. I bouthg hummels, a striker with an 85 that I cant remember his name, and van persie.
But my question is, I have 3 scouts, one reidulous one from netherlands, that has both 5 stars, one from Algeria that has 4 and 5. I bought them first thing in my career. And the Denmark guy all over. I sign riduclous prospects, and my youth team is loaded with players all with potentials I have 1 goalie from Spain that has an potential and a 61 overall.
Both have potentials of , and the cb has a 58 overall and the lm a I started them immediately, and the CB progressed none. And the lm only progressed a point in a hyear and a half. The goalie hasnt progessed at all in my youth squad, and no team wants them on loan. If anyone knows how to progress people on this game, please tell me! Take care. Nobody is anonymous on the web. Racism is a crime against the humanity. Interpol and hundreds of another security forces are in constant surveillance for persons like you.
What u have to do is play them all the time even if they are crap! I support birmingham city and manchester united so there is this player for blues called nathan redmond and it took him 8 years to grow to his full potenzial and the same with the man united guy, ravel morrison so they will be years old till they get there.
I was just playing as Napoli for a while and all of a sudden Lavezzi wants out. So he hands in a transfer request and all this stuff. I keep rejecting all of the offers that I got because they were pretty small. Then out of nowhere Real Madrid just randomly bought him without me actually agreeing to their offer.
Has anyone else had something similar happen to them? I had Verdi Italian RM and he randomly sold to Bayern for 4 million less than what he was listed for. I had literally the exact same thing happen to me with Lavezzi. I was pissed because I really liked playing with him, but luckily I had enough money saved up to combine with the money they gave me for me to buy Neymar - who has amazing speed and ball control but terrible stamina.
I thinks only happens when they have less than 1 year on their contract, I made that mistake with Nani, with 3 months left on his contract he fucked off to Lyon :. I'm with Chelsea and I have a load of young players I want to loan out to further their development but I'm finding it hard to do this. Anyone know how to make it easier to do this? Also, anyone know how many seasons you spend all together as a manager?
LOL gotta like how everyone has to start off with a rich side so they can get all the best footballers straight away! Yeah I think its more of a challenge doing it that way, getting promoted etc, I managed Ipswich to 5th in the prem : Its boring being city or real etc just buying all the big names IMO. Iphone version. Silva Ronaldo Ericsson d. If so, how do you qualify? I'm guessing it's not like in real life where you can qualify by winning the US Open Cup. Is there a way of managing another team as a manager only for a year and then returning to your home club??
I guess I'll have to sim a whole season to find out :D. Hey, who is this Mexican Messi you talk about?? Is it Marco Bueno? I bought this guy last season, and he's been growing nicely :D Cheers!! I agree, but what is even more frustrating is that other clubs don't develop youth players. In the 15 years there was 1 youth player, not developed by me, that reached skill level PES is better in this area, to be honest, though, PES talents are reincarneted players of now, so that game sucks in its own way I can c why its not posibble cuz aside from brazilian ,mexican and 3 argentine teams there are no other southamerican teams in fifa But still ea could have come up with a mexican vs mls league tournament or a mexican, mls, brazilian and even throw in the few argentine teams boca, river, racing and made a extra cup for mexican ,brazilian, or mls team players to try and get.
Anyways thats what id like to c inthe next fifa. I didnt read this article just wanted to get a thank you today. There is an option for not letting every anonymous sod, take a dump on your blog, mate If you're looking for a quality CB for cheap snag Ogbonna asap in your career mode. He plays for F. Torino so i started with him.
Ogbonna in 2nd season has 82 accel, 86 speed, 82 aggression, 80 interception, 82 marking, 83 standing tackle, 92 strength! Yeah i agree, i bought Ogbonna and he reached overall 87 but he is one of the fastest centre backs i've ever played with.
Took Wimpledon gained two promotions till premier leaugue and then went to Bochum. Sold 22 palyers and bought I loved this team. I love to discover talents and use less money wisely to create teams.
Playing manager mode and noticed ever since the February the likeliness of your club being bought by rich owners is almost impossible, Does anyone know what he chances are of being bought? Couantro Sub Benzema D. Albiol Its in 3rd season Manager Reputation : 4. Does other teams have a good youth academy. Can they have like a 90 ovr striker in year 12, or is it only your team who has one?
I got theeee best lineup. I am in my l8th season and of the first 25 best players in the world under 26, 22 of them were from my youth teams, and Barce,Madrid,Man U,Chelsea, and Arsenal's best player was like a 62, wtf. Since there isn't any good youth talent 5 or so seasons in I make a bunch of realistic players that are 16 yrs old before I start and they all became the next best stars!
This are some of the players that i have and some that im trying to get on the next open transfer window. When a player wants to leave the team is there any possible way to try to keep him in the team? I just started a career as Real Madrid's coach and Cristiano Ronaldo who is the best player wants to leave the team and I really need him Second time around I started off with accrington stanley league 2. Earned promotion through every year, now playn in the 6th season in d premier league.
Here are the list of players i have at present: Attackers: 1. Adrian 81 ST free agent 5th season 2. Odemwingie 76 ST crap but good finisher 4. Akabueze 76 ST athletic 5. Lago Junior 73 ST had him since 2nd season up from 66 7.
Haines 71 ST was 67 Midfielders: 1.
