Which is cheaper acme or shoprite

Philly food blogger Madeline Tague experimented doing her weekly shopping at Whole Foods, Acme, Trader Joe's, and Aldi — and the price differences were insane. I almost scraped by, but Trader Joe's has certain items only seasonally, so I was unable to purchase a few of the necessary ingredients on my list.

The store near me doesn't stock canned mushrooms and cream of mushroom soup during the summer months, for example, which meant I had to purchase fresh mushrooms surprisingly, they were cheaper than Trader Joe's frozen medley and some half-and-half to make my own version of the creamy soup that I needed for a recipe.

The store also didn't stock cream of chicken soup, so I needed to completely re-think one of my planned meals. The higher prices and the lack of ingredients meant I had to improvise recipes as I stood there in the aisle. That said, there was a lot of value to be had at Trader Joe's. Its offerings aren't the cheapest, but the products are usually a step up in terms of quality. I was able to get a whole bag of organic red potatoes for less than the average Russet potatoes offered at Acme or Aldi, for example.

Before hitting the aisles of Acme, I checked prices ahead of time. Turns out, that was a waste. Once I arrived at the store, many of the items I needed were not available at the advertised price. If I were shopping for the whole month, I might have been able to justify the expense. I ended up purchasing a much less healthy option: Tyson breaded chicken fingers.

It wasn't just the chicken, either. And Brown is no corporate slouch. Now, his Overbrook location is going dark. I can understand why. The Aldi that opened in the past few years is a mile away on the line between Philly and far more affluent Montgomery County. It is a killer. Inside, a man in spotless penny loafers browsed the produce, a mom with two toddlers grabbed cupcakes, and elderly shoppers, Spanish speakers — a full demographic rainbow — filled their carts in the very small store.

I asked if she knew that Aldi, unlike ShopRite, is a nonunion shop. Same with Walmart, Giant, Whole Foods. She shrugged. The lines are shorter, she said, and the food is cheaper. We can thank the Great Recession for some of this. Why was the metal one removed? This one is crap!!!! I will not buy any more of your brands if this is the quality of product you put out. Did you have any one test this product before you put it on your shelves. Shame on you for this poor quality product!!!..

Big big no no for this store.. The girl I spoke to was rude and condencending saying that was the rules. You know what happened to the items returned? They went into the Acmwe advertised a turkey special buy one get one value item free. So people buying the turkey and wanting to order another value item besides turkey. They were not allowed , so the customers asked for a manager In the mean time, I am not able to avail of all the coupons and discounts available to me.

No one can seem to help!.. Have been shopping with acme for over twenty years. The deli at oxford avenue phila seems to have a problem with I had sucha good experience in the New Providence store.

The employee named Pat helpedme with my daughter he was so kind
